nmsDashboard's design interface allows you to create the best dashboard for your needs. By using the various built in monitoring tasks and display elements you can control what information you see and how it is displayed.
|
The nmsDashboard's design allows you to have as many or as few display elements as you feel you need. ICEnetware realise that sometimes you'll want to view the same information in different formats, for this reason the nmsDashboard allows you to link as many display elements to an individual task as you like.
ICEnetware realise that sometimes it is not the current value of a task that is important but instead it is amount of change between the previous result of the task and the current value that needs to be monitored. For this reason each of the nmsDashboard’s display elements has the ability to display the change (as a value) between the previous and current task value. For example; this might be used for a SNMP Request task returning the total number of IP packets received on a Router to display the number of packets received per second if the task is polled every second.
Each display element allows you to configure a Low and High threshold. If the task associated with the display element falls outside of either threshold certain display elements can change their display to ensure that the user is aware of the tasks’ status. Along with a change in display, each element can raise an alarm based on the threshold trigger value.
As a third way of ensuring that the nmsDashboard can display the information you require, each display element can perform an adjustment calculation (y=mx + c) on every value returned from a task. The adjustment is calculated prior to the value being published to the display element and can therefore be used in conjunction with the display difference option of a display element.
